Seniors Teddy Meiers and Austin Urhan, both big boys who can eat a lot of food, revived the Gentlemen's Breakfast Club on Nov. 18 of 2022 after taking a couple years off due to the pandemic.
Justin Wood and Ryan Prestigiacomo, two masterminds with a hankering for food at all times. What better way to express our interest than to start a food review? Our intention with this review is nothing less than to encapsulate the highlights as well as the lowlights of our food reviewing careers while at the same time delivering entertaining content.
Personally, I am as hungry as a whale after the school day. A lot of times, we as students have to kill time before a practice, game or event and need to get some food. As school cafeteria lines are very packed after school, we naturally expand our scope of food options to the restaurants around campus. Here are some places that I recommend for our hungry after-school student population:
Saint Xavier lunch is one of, if not the most, anticipated class of the day for all students. The real question is what do you want for your 45-minute heavenly break. Today I will be tackling the five most loved Flik entrees.
I firmly believe that the Post has some of the best pizza in Louisville. Found conveniently in Germantown, this pizza place is a mere four minutes from our very own St. X, they open four on weekdays, and a slice of pepperoni pizza will only run you four dollars. Now I ask you, what exactly is stopping you from killing a little time after school, and heading straight to the Post for a giant slice of New York style, thin-crust pizza.
While there is already a Xavier News burger review--a very well-written one at that--I couldn’t help but notice that they left out the local king of beef. This isn’t something that I could simply look over, and I’ve taken it upon myself to bring to your attention the greatness of Burger Boy.
Practically everyone has had burgers from McDonald's, Wendy’s, and the other fast food chains at least several times in their lives. However, not as many people have visited their local burger joints here in the Louisville area. Considering Louisville was the home of the first cheeseburger, it’s certainly a missed opportunity to not give a chance to all the local burgers out there. Today we’ll be reviewing three local burger restaurants: 80/20 @ Kaelin's, Toasty’s Tavern, and W.W. Cousins.
