The movie’s title screen

A Sunken Tokyo

Darren Davis, Staff Writer May 16, 2022
Overall, Bubbles is a good movie that’s pretty much only held back by the current high standards of anime. Three years ago, this movie definitely could’ve been much, but as of now, it’s originality isn’t enough to carry it to the top. Watching it isn’t really necessary with better movies out there like Your Name or any Ghibli film, but if you’ve been over-saturated with anime’s sameness, this could be a nice break.

Jewelry is something that comes in all shapes and sizes, all different price ranges, and all different quantities.
Sonic 2 Promo

A Video Game Movie Done Right

Darren Davis, Staff Writer May 9, 2022
I don’t think that Sonic 2 is the best movie ever made or even close to that. It has numerous problems and leans a bit too much into “for kids” rather than “for everyone., but it’s still a great flick. Sonic 2 is hopefully the beginning of many meaningful and impressive movie adaptations of games.
Sky and Joey’s Final Throwback Thursday

Sky and Joey’s Final Throwback Thursday

Sky Kustes and Joey Maier May 5, 2022
Yesterday was our last day of senior year. Collectively, Sky and I are getting slightly emotional. To celebrate, we are going all the way back to 2019, the year we were freshmen. This is music we were bumping to when we were children.
Album Review: Awaken, My Love! by Childish Gambino

Album Review: “Awaken, My Love!” by Childish Gambino

Joey Maier, Staff Writer April 29, 2022
With the fourth quarter nearly halfway finished and the weather finally warming up, you need the perfect songs for the upcoming season. Certain albums sound better during spring and summer, and this is definitely one. I’ve listened to Awaken, My Love! front and back multiple times and here is my honest opinion regarding the songs on the album.

Sky and Joey’s Throwback Thursday

Sky Kustes and Joey Maier April 28, 2022
This week, we are sort of defeating the purpose of “throwback”. Sky and myself decided to take a spin on the newer age of R&B music. We had lots of options to pick from, but we were able to narrow it down to these two fantastic songs.
Sky and Joey’s Release Radar

Sky and Joey’s Release Radar

Sky Kustes and Joey Maier April 22, 2022
BEHOLD! Release Radar makes its return. The last few weeks haven’t seen such a large turnout in new music releases, which is sad. Summer is approaching fast, with many music festivals coming up, artists are dropping tour dates, and a few of our favorites have dropped new music. These are our picks for our final Friday of High School.

What do you do when the biggest music act in history breaks up? Go out on your own and make your own music, of course! This Throwback Thursday, Joey and I take on the members of The Beatles’ solo careers.
Skywalker Saga Boxart

The Best Star Wars Game

Darren Davis, Staff Writer April 21, 2022
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an adaptation done right. Even the atrocious new trilogy is made better here, though still isn't great. Its hard to say that The Skywalker Saga is the best game to come out this year, as it is still held back a bit by its kid’s game moniker, but it will definitely be a game to remember. It’s a game focused on fun and definitely delivers.
Album Review: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

Album Review: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

Sky Kustes, Staff Writer April 20, 2022
“This album is a classic” is a sentiment I often hear. Sure, many albums from bands like The Doors, The Beatles, Ramones, and Nirvana, as well as single acts like Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash have been played time and time again over the many decades since they were released; but what is it that makes these artists and albums “classic”? I set out to find a classic album that doesn't get nearly as much attention than the other artists listed above. I decided on David Bowie’s "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars", released in 1972.
Not Into Anime Yet? Watch These

Not Into Anime Yet? Watch These

Ryan Prestigiacomo, Staff Writer April 19, 2022
Anime is an overlooked art by so many, for so many years of my life I was in this boat too. I always looked at anime as childish and below me, not worthy of watching, if you will. Spoiler: I was wrong.

Sky and Joey’s Throwback Thursday

Sky Kustes and Joey Maier April 14, 2022
Covers are a hotly debated point in music, with artists covering classic and well-established songs to mixed reviews. I mean, how can one artist make a song better than the original artist can? That just sounds crazy, although, it has been done before. Joey and I have selected our favorite covers for this Throwback Thursday, and we hope you enjoy.
