Eli Stephenson is not only taking on some of the best in the world, he has been beating them

If someone sees Eli Stephenson walking down the halls at St. X, one might think he is just a normal senior in high school. Little does that person know, Eli Stephenson is one of the best tennis players in the world for his age.
The Tigers had a clean sweep in the spring, winning state in all sports

St. X has a storied history of winning state championships. Last spring, the Tigers made history once again, pulling off a clean sweep in state championships for spring sports for the first time ever. The four spring sports the Tigers won are: baseball, lacrosse, tennis, and track and field. The Tigers have only completed a season sweep once in 2009 when St. X swept the fall season sports. These spring sports, along with swimming, were honored in the tiger tunnel last Friday.

The tiger tennis team’s season is well underway and there have been some great things to take away so far. The team is currently 12-2, both losses being to McCallie, from Tennessee, and so far the team is undefeated in the state of Kentucky. They also came in second in the Chattanooga Rotary Tournament (2 draws and 3 back draws).

The Tigers look to complete yet another great season and ultimately win another State Championship. The tennis season has been kickstarted with a complete performance from the team in an overall 5-1 win against rival, Trinity. Singles winners were Ty Bush, William Lewis, and Eli Stephenson. Doubles winners were Conner Brewer and Tommy Scanlan, and George Wagner and Cole Riley.
