My mind was void of ideas and struggling to be productive, I was asked to leave The Xavier News Classroom and not return until I came back with an idea. I am now bringing this story to you from a very special place.
Banished from the buzz of room 313, students who fall behind often find themselves on the legendary “Green Couch of Productivity,” where distractions disappear and unfinished stories finally get written.
Located right outside the Xavier News fishbowl, the couch is a place where preoccupied students go when deadlines are looming and unproductive conversations are in abundance.
It may look like any other piece of furniture however, the couch has some sort of extra terrestrial ability to shut out noise. You feel like you’re in your own world, it’s just you and your work. Some people say this magical throne for the unmotivated can turn subpar writers into Shakespeare.
Through the years, Xavier News has seen many innovations. Spanning from paper copies to websites and high end cameras. The improvements are endless, however, there is one invention to the Xavier News cause that stands alone.
“I can honestly say that it is the best invention in Xavier News history. I have never been more efficient in writing a story, editing a video, or even brainstorming Xavier News’ next big thing.” Shulhafer said.
In the end The Green Couch of Productivity isn’t just a spot outside the classroom. It’s a place where every Xavier News student finds themselves and gets the job done.
