In my four years of high school, no year feels as important as senior year. This is the year everything feels bigger. This year isn’t just another school year; it’s a collection of memories we’ll talk about for the rest of our lives.
Fall Football Games
There is nothing like senior year football games. The student section feels louder, more energetic, and more united than ever before. Being able to sit right in the front of the student section makes it even better. Every Marlon Harbin game-changing play, every Karsten Busch tackle, and every Mason Trimble touchdown pass causes an eruption that makes every Friday night feel like a movie. The themes, the chants, and the sea of green and gold make it clear that the brotherhood is stronger than ever.
Basketball Season
When winter hits, basketball season takes over. The gyms are packed to see one of the best St. X teams of all time. The student section shows up game after game, eager to see another crazy Josh Lindsay poster or Connor Klein corner three. Senior year at the front of the student section makes us feel like we are in the game. Close games have everyone screaming, and the Trinity rival games feel like the biggest events of the year. Walking into the gym knowing it is our season as seniors makes the Cage that much more electric.
Senior Privileges
One of the best parts of senior year is finally getting the perks we waited years for. Sitting in the front of the student section and leading chants is a privilege we’ve waited four years for. It feels like we officially make it. We aren’t the underclassmen anymore; we are the leaders of the best student section in the country. Senior year gives us more freedom, more recognition, and more chances to actually enjoy each day of school instead of just going through the motions.
What’s Still to Come
Prom
One of the biggest nights we’ve all imagined since freshman year. The outfits, the pictures, the dinner, and the dance floor. It’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime high school moments that will be talked about for decades. It’s not just a dance; it’s a night where everyone comes together to celebrate everything we’ve been through. Prom is where the best memories are made. It’s a perfect high school conclusion with the friends you’ve made over the years. I can’t wait for the moment when all of the boys hit the dance floor.
Graduation
The moment everything becomes real. Walking across that stage, hearing your name called, and tossing the cap is the perfect end of one chapter and the start of another. It’s exciting, but also emotional, because it means saying goodbye to the people, routines, and facilities we’ve known for years. Graduation is the final memory that defines our St. X legacy.
