The Super Bowl halftime show is among the biggest musical performances on Earth every year, and every year I watch it, but some halftime shows are better than others. For me to appreciate a halftime show it needs a great stage production, strong star power, and smart song choice to be considered worth watching. So here is my ranking of the last five Super Bowls.
5: Bad Bunny (2026)
When I heard Bad Bunny was performing at the Super Bowl, I was very happy he has many great songs and is a great performer. However, I was very disappointed by his song choice because he spoke Spanish for the majority of the performance. Though his visuals were very cool I have trouble putting it any higher than five because of the language barrier.
4: Usher (2024)
The only reason I have this above Bad Bunny is his song choice, I could understand what he was saying so that just barely puts him above Bad Bunny. Usher had the least impressive visual effects and production using only a stage on the field with a lot of backup dancers. He played his best songs but it was just alright.
3: Rihanna (2023)
The 2023 halftime show featured Rihanna who played some great songs. I think 2023 had the coolest stage because it was suspended above the field by cables. Overall it was just a very solid show with good song choice and a cool set.
2: Kendrick Lamar (2025)
This halftime show was performed by Kendrick Lamar with a cameo from SZA and Samuel L Jackson. Kendrick played some pretty good songs and the parts with SZA were very good. It had a great set that had the stage constantly moving which I thought was pretty cool. He could have utilized other artists in my opinion.
1: Dr Dre and Friends (2022)
My favorite Super Bowl halftime show featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem. With in my opinion the best lineup by far with so many famous rappers and a decent stage design this halftime show was very memorable for me. This was the only halftime show that I was actually excited to watch.
