Cartoons are the way for kids to escape reality and watch an animated character bounce around a square screen for a few hours. Within cartoons, characters go on wild adventures for our entertainment. All these characters have their own unique traits, and it may be their hair color, crazy looking face, or even being super tiny. However, each cartoon has their own theme song. In this article, I will be telling you what I believe are the top 5 kid cartoon theme songs of all time.

5. The Backyardigans
I truly believe that this theme song is a top 5 on any list out there. I had to put it somewhere and it fell to the 5th slot. The Backyardigans are a group of friends that go on magical adventures. The song though is spectacular with its instrumentals and vocals being spot on for the show. It introduces all of them and goes on to say “We are your backyard friends, The Backyardigans!”

4. Sofia the First
Sofia The First was the odd man out on this list. People might say this is a girl show, how could it possibly crack the top 5, but people don’t realize how catchy this song really is. It brings you in with the stars twinkling and instrumental music that begins the song. Nothing compares to a magical song such as this.

3. Scooby Doo ( What’s New Scooby Doo)
This was very debatable on the original or new version of Scooby Doo to be put here. I chose the new one because it just has more emotion behind the song. Everyone loves a song with some passion behind it unlike the old one. It also just has a repetitive saying of “What’s new Scooby Doo” which everyone seems to remember.

2. SpongeBob SquarePants
“Are you ready kids,” is more likely than not the most known saying in cartoon history. SpongeBob SquarePants was the most viewed kid cartoon series ever on Nickelodeon. The song starts off with some weird looking pirate yelling at the screen which makes every kid laugh. Throughout the song has kids singing and laughing with catchy little phrases that I can still sing on command.

1. Phineas and Ferb
I personally think there isn’t another theme song that could top this. This is one of the commonly known cartoon series. It instantly starts off with the electric guitar and just a perfect melody throughout the 57 seconds. It just has everything you need to create a catchy song and that’s why it’s number 1.
