Coach J does it again.
Another Teacher of the Year is in the record books. Coach J has won this prestigious award four times in his career at St. X. This makes him the overall leader for this award, with Mr. Price being second with three. Coach J was able to win his first Teacher of the Year all the way back in 2006. This shows that his presence transcends decades.
His zeal and humility have been able to get through to students on a different level than most teachers. Teaching math is very hard to engage students, but Coach J accomplished this. He was able to get students interested in the subject and maybe even excited for it through the energy that he brings. There is a reason he has won this award four times.
Coach J has been a staple for this school for many years. Students have always come first to Coach J, and this is why Coach J is so reliable to students. Whether it be getting to school early for students to ask questions and make up quizzes and tests or staying after school for even more of the same material, Coach J is always there to lend a helping hand. He makes genuine connections with his students and colleagues.
It is no surprise that Coach J is such a good teacher. Some mentors that he credits are Brother John Wills, Coach Glaser, and, once again, his students.
“The students run the school,” according to Coach J.
This mentality has provided Coach J with relationships that can last a lifetime, and a legacy that will be remembered at St. X for the end of time.
If you haven’t had the honor of having Coach J as a teacher, this is some insight into how he definitely deserved this award.
