With the St. X archery team’s regular season coming to an end, the Tigers prepare for the start of postseason competition.
According to team sniper Max Bockelman, the Tigers have been putting in consistent work each week to get ready for the challenges ahead. The team practices every Tuesday through Thursday before school, with most competitions and shooting sessions taking place on Saturday mornings.
With the postseason approaching, the Tigers are aiming for higher scores and a strong and supportive team environment. Team chemistry has played a major role in keeping morale high throughout the season.
“The team chemistry is very positive and picks each other up when we have a bad day,” Bockelman said.
Even though archery is often viewed as an individual sport, the Tigers have created a close team atmosphere that sets them apart.
“Even though overall archery isn’t a team sport, there is a connection between everyone, and it is a very welcoming team,” Bockelman said.
As the Tigers head into the postseason, their definition of success is clear. They need scores higher across the roster. The Tigers have been led by a two-headed snake in Lucas Harden and Eli McDaniel, who have been among the team’s top performers.
With dedication, strong team support, and postseason goals in sight, the Tigers are ready to step up when it matters most and aim for a strong finish to their season with regionals this weekend starting March 1.
