The Tiger Baseball team’s senior night was a success as they beat North Bullitt 1-0 with a dominant outing by senior Brodie Benefield. Although, senior night has wrapped up for the 2026 baseball team, let’s take a look at the seniors favorite memories, advice, and plans for their future!
Brodie Benefield: 3B/RHP
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
Getting out of the bases loaded with no outs against Ballard in the last inning of the region semifinal, or hitting a walk off home run in the district championship.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend United States Air Force Academy for baseball and will likely major in Biology.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Work your hardest even on the days that it is boring or gets repetitive.
Oakley Clevenger: OF
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
First time playing in the regional tournament at Jim Patterson.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend Indiana Wesleyan University for baseball and major in finance.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Grind through any situation no matter how the future looks, things will open up.
Jaxon Coomer: MIF
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
Beating Ballard my junior year in the region semifinals.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend Indiana Wesleyan University for baseball and major in business.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Your future will depend on your work, so push yourself everyday to be the best you can possibly be.
Wyatt Graven: OF
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
When we played Farragut High School sophomore year and just all of the bus rides.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend the University of Kentucky and major in business.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Don’t be afraid to be a leader.
Ryan Holmes: P
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
My favorite memory at St. X was winning the regional semi finals against Ballard.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend Spalding University for baseball and major in nursing.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Keep working hard even when you face set backs because your hard work will eventually pay off.
Mason Nett: RHP/C
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
My favorite memory at St. X was getting my first varsity hit.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend Anderson University for baseball and major in finance.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Failure doesn’t define who you are. What really matters is how you respond after you fail. In baseball, you’re going to have a lot of ups and downs, and things won’t always go your way. But you can control your attitude and effort. Keep working hard, stay positive, and don’t give up on your goals, even when things get tough.
Colton Zuege: LHP/1B
1. Favorite memory at St. X:
Pitching at Floyd Central and finding the brick my junior year.
2. College and major:
I plan to attend Murray State University for baseball and major in business/finance.
3. Advice to younger baseball players:
Don’t be afraid to do the things or say the things that others don’t or won’t say. Be the person who puts there head down and goes to work even when it’s hard to.
