On Wednesday, April 22, at 6:00 P.M., the Tigers will take on the Trinity Shamrocks at St. X for an intense and highly anticipated midseason matchup.
St. X is off to hot start as they have been ranked #2 all season. Their record is 19-4 with 3 of their losses being to out of state teams. Two of these teams were ranked top 30 in the country per PBR (St. Laurence, Illinois and Brother Rice from Illinois).
The Tigers just defeated district rival, Male, 12-0 in what was supposed to be a great game. On the other side, Trinity is ranked #1 and they are 17-2. They have key wins over Brother Rice and St. John Bosco. Coming into the game they are on a 11 game win streak.

The Tigers offense is on fire even though one of their best hitters, senior Brodie Benefield, went down with a hand injury last week. St. X will have to have a different mentality without the three hole hitter.
The last matchup between the two went to Trinity in the 2025 7th region championship. The Shamrocks got off to a hot start and defeated St. X 4-3. Although, St. X did beat them in the regular season 6-1 at Trinity’s home field.
The Tigers are looking for a different result this year as the key to success is playing hard and never letting go. They have to have high energy and take advantage of any mistakes that the Shamrocks make. Not only taking advantage of Trinity’s mistakes, they have to execute the small things when they matter.
This will be a highly intense game, and the Tigers are ready to take care of business. The Tigers have been battle tested all year and are ready to step up and take on another challenge.
