Caden Barker has decided to continue his football career at Centre college, joining his two former teammates Mason Trimble and Ben Pinkston. Mason Trimble has already signed to Centre and continues to be Cadens quarterback at the next level. Ben Pinkston is verbally committed and will be playing linebacker for the colonels
Caden Barker is a former three-year varsity wide receiver and kick returner for St. Xavier’s football team. His senior year he was first team all district and top three in the state for return yards. Since he was a kid, his dream was to play college football and he knew Centre was the place for him right away. The coaching staff and the players were all welcoming to him and really fun to be around. He is most excited to play with his former quarterback at the next level.
“I’m glad I have two former teammates going to Centre, so I have some familiar faces around me,” Barker said. “It’s always good to know a couple of guys when meeting new people. Also, Mason has been my quarterback for the last four years so we have some chemistry on the field.”
“The football program to me looks like everyone’s focused on a common goal and that’s an environment I want to be a part of,” Barker said.
Similar to Caden, Mason Trimble is also a three-year varsity player for the Tigers. Mason started at quarterback his junior and senior year.
“Going to Centre with two of my former teammates is awesome, especially since I’ve known them for so long and they know what it takes to win,” Mason Trimble said. “Having some familiarity with me in the freshman class is definitely something I’m looking forward to.”
