It’s been an exciting year of sports at St X. We won a soccer state championship and our basketball team is rolling right now; however, a sport is coming up that should get some attention.
Volleyball at St. X is very prestigious. The Tigers have won nine out of the last ten club championships since 2014, and won the first ever sanctioned state tournament last year vs Henry Clay. It is safe to say that the Tigers are elite at volleyball.
St. X is going to try to replicate the success they have been having in the sport for this year.
Many key players will be returning such as seniors Walt Bakken, Isaac Lotze, Louie Murr, Briley Cody, Isaac McKinney, Isaac Kaufman, Murphy Lee Schmidt, Tyler Maxim, and Kane Haley.
This will provide a team filled with leadership. Rising stars like Houston Hume, Will Roth, and Ian Cecil will only bolster this amazing roster.
Coach Mullin and the assistant coaches will have a lot to work with. The strength of schedule for the Tigers is also promising, meaning the games will be exhilarating to watch.
“We are going to be unstoppable this year,” senior Walt Bakken said.
With the talent on this team, the likelihood of another state title seems inevitable. Go and support the Tigers this year and their journey to another State Championship!
