This Kentucky basketball season has been a rollercoaster, and this team has been through everything. The Kentucky Wildcats found themselves down big to the Tennessee Volunteers, 47-33, at home Saturday night at Rupp Arena. Once again, the Wildcats proved everyone wrong, battling all the way back for a gritty 74-71 win after a clutch three-pointer by Collin Chandler gave Kentucky a 71-69 lead.
This Kentucky team has proven time and time again that they are one of the most resilient and gritty teams in the country. They have been backed into a corner so many times this season, yet they continue to fight back every single time. This is the most heart I’ve ever seen from a Kentucky team, and the way they compete and refuse to give up is extremely impressive.
After dealing with injuries to three starters and enduring multiple blowout losses when the season looked hopeless, the Wildcats never let up. Because of that, this team has become one of the best stories in college basketball this season, and they continue to prove the haters wrong.
Kentucky now faces another difficult challenge on the road at Florida this Saturday against the red-hot Florida Gators, who are looking to go back-to-back this season. There will be plenty on the line as the Wildcats are finally ranked for the first time since December. This game will be a tough road test, but The Unpredictables won’t go down without a fight.
