Tiger Hockey is just over the halfway point of their season and gearing up for the final stretch along with the state tournament. The past few games for the Tigers have been filled with ups and downs, but the team is looking good with just a few more league games to go.
With a challenging start to the season the team has found themselves 7-9 with three losses to in state opponents. They are coming off a tough tournament in St. Louis where they faced tough opponents and learned a lot about how they need to improve to tune up for the home stretch.
A huge win on Friday night against Trinity in demanding fashion gave the tigers a huge boost of confidence. The guys cruised to a 10-0 victory with a huge scoring boost from the teams defense. The power play was firing and the Shamrocks could not stop the Tigers from scoring.
With league games coming up against Northern Kentucky and Owensboro, the Tigers are looking to get revenge for their losses to both teams earlier in the season. They will be playing Owensboro with a full roster which should give them the edge to come up on top. Northern Kentucky is a very solid team, but last game could have gone either way, so this one will be similar.
Everyone be sure to come out to Iceland on Feb. 20 for senior night against Trinity. Go Tigers!
