The St. X basketball team has been known for their consistent young talent and depth. Sophomore Jordan Jackson brings great qualities to the team and is a promising underclassman.
Jordan Jackson transferred to St. X this past year from Holy Cross and is quick to make an impact.
While he says St. X is very strict, he also describes the school as welcoming and helpful to aid him in reaching his goals on and off the court. Jordan’s strengths are his communication skills on the court and his awareness to be able to block shots and he prides himself in his hard work. Ultimately, his sights are set on one thing this year.
“My goal for the season is to win state for all the seniors this year,” Jordan said.
Last year the Tigers graduated Seniors Will Hanke and Graham Krezmien who worked very well in the paint. At 6’8” Jordan fills the need of a “big man” for the team and will play an important role this season. He is more athletic and dynamic of a basketball player at his size than we have seen at St. X.
Senior Jeremiah Jackson is excited about Jordan being a part of the team.
“Jordan brings high energy to the team,” Jeremiah said. “He’s always communicating to each player. He also brings a lot of athleticism, dunks everything, and blocks lots of shots.”
It has been fun watching Jordan this year and he is undoubtedly one of the best sophomores in Kentucky. He’s a very lengthy and athletic player with a lot of upside. He’s not afraid to shoot, dribble, or make plays in the paint. He will prove to be a pivotal contributor as the Tigers chase the state championship this year.
