One of the least known sports at St. X is bowling, but what makes the sport so special? Let’s go beyond the strikes and spares of Tiger Bowling.
The season stretched from October to January, with the year ending a few weeks back. The Tigers placed third in their regionals as they played some of the best teams in the state at the regional competition.
While the year ended sooner than wished, the experience was not worth putting in the rear-view mirror. The bowling team has built an exceptionally well culture over the years.
“Definitely the players and the bowling community,” junior Jake Wolf said of his favorite aspect of bowling with Saint Xavier. “If you need help with anything you can find players who will help you be your best.”
Success is nothing new to St. X Bowling. In 2022, the team won the Region 4 Championship, and later became a state-semifinalist. Last year, the Tigers were the runner-ups in the Regional tournament. William Senninger, the lone senior on the team, has been a part of many great moments on the lanes.
“My favorite part about the team is how the team members work together,” Senninger says. “My favorite memory from bowling is when we got 2nd place in the 2023 Regional tournament.”
With the help of a stable culture, an established history, and returning players, the future of St. X bowling continues to be bright.
