The St. X Tigers (3-0) take on the 2-2 Elder Panthers (2-2) this Friday night. Like the Male game, this is also a revenge game. Last year the Tigers lost 13-24 and are looking for a win.
The Tigers are well rested after a deserved bye week after defeating the Male Bulldogs 20-10. Elder is looking to bounce back after losing a shootout 33-34 to the number ten ranked team in the nation, St. Edward.

The Tiger defense stepped up against the Bulldog offense led by senior Tyler Neal, Kruse Metzmeier and Sam Crum. Neal came up with three huge sacks against a stout Male offensive line. Tyler Neal switched positions this year, but was up for the challenge.
Switching positions was just something the team needed me to do, but the role hasn’t changed,” Neal said. “I just want us to win and I will play any position if it means that we do.”
Senior defensive captain Sam Crum had a crucial pick which gave the Tigers momentum. He seemed to be involved in every single play coming down from his safety position.

“Focus and concentration are the biggest factors,” Crum said. “Going into this game against Elder is a mentally tough game for us. We just need to remember our practice and our keys and I think we have a great shot at winning the game.”

Senior quarterback Trevor Havill had another exemplary passing display. Completing 19/27 passes for 253 yards and two touchdown passes. Havill seems to be getting better every game and building more confidence with his receivers.

“The way I’d describe our team this year is explosive.” Havill said. “We have guys on both sides of the ball who can make big time plays anytime anywhere. Especially on the offensive side of the ball, we’ve got guys who are extremely good after the catch.”

The Bulldog defense was no match for the junior duo of Cameron Hollaway and Kyle Krupp. Hollaway had five catches for 80 yards and a touchdown and Krupp caught four passes for 90 yards and a touchdown too.

The Tigers look to remain unbeaten and head into the most anticipated game of the season against Trinity at L&N Stadium.
