“Solitude”

One shiny spring day on the soft embrace of the plush couch.

You sit comfortably and leaf through your favorite book.

Then you hear it. Aggressive music from your siblings room, “bang, bang, bang, bang”

It’s annoying but bearable.

Then violent commotion from a phone call taking place in another room, “blah, blah, blah, blah.” It’s getting worse but you continue reading regardless.

Finally, there’s the vacuum running down the hallway. Its loud, irritating hum bursting into your ears “vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom.”

Terrible noise. Blaring music, nagging chatter, and the aggressive vacuum.

Bang, blah blah blah, vroom, bang, blah blah blah, vroom

BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM, BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM

You try blocking it out, but it’s too much.

BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM, BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM

“Maybe if I just concentrate”

BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM, BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM

You’ve inevitably had enough, you run frantically into your room.

BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM, BANG, BLAH BLAH BLAH, VROOM You slam your door, and…

Nothing…

Silence…

Solitude.
