Best Baseball Walkup Songs
April 11, 2023
Walkup songs are an extremely important part of a good at bat in baseball. They are a way for players to get in the zone. A good walkup song could be the difference between hitting a nuke or striking out. Many walkup songs have personal meaning and others are just relevant hype songs. Because I love music, I have decided that it is necessary for me to rank the top ten walkup songs for the 2023 St. X baseball team.
1. “Magic Stick” — Brodie Benefield
I had never heard this song before, and I can confidently say this is the perfect walk up song. It opens up with an exciting beat drop and a classic 90s beat.
2. “P.Y.T.” — Adam Campisano
This song is an absolute classic. You can never go wrong with Michael Jackson and, in my opinion, Adam chose the best part of one his best songs. I would be shocked if this walk up song doesn’t produce some big hits this season.
3. “Public Service Announcement” — Kyle Krupp
This is an absolute banger from 1 of the goats of rap, Jay-z. The lyrics on this track are perfect for a walk up song as Jay-z says, “allow me to reintroduce myself.” Superb pick from Kyle.
4. “Head Off” — Ben Purnell
Although I am not a big fan of Youngboy, this is a very solid song. It has a quick hitting beat drop with plenty of bass to hype up the crowd.
5. “All The Money” — Zach Marks
I love the chill, laid back voice from Gunna combined with the super hard beat by Metro Boomin. This will certainly be the perfect intro to many great leadoff at-bats by Zach this season.
6. “How We Do” — Jack Thompson
This is another retro 50 Cent song like “Magic Stick” which always works well. In my opinion, this is a little slow for a walk up song, but it is still a banger.
7. “Underdog” — Landon Akers
I actually really like this pick from Landon. There’s a ton of emotion in this song, and it is energizing. My only complaint is that we should never be the underdog with the talent on our team this year.
8. “Superhero” — Jake Gregor
This is an excellent walk up song with great production again from Metro Boomin. A huge part of my rankings is originality, and I feel like this is a very obvious pick which is why it fell to eight.
9. “Without Me” — Cooper Smith
Despite the low ranking, I actually love this for a walk up song. According to my sources, Cooper has used this song the last few years, so I had to take him down a few spots.
10. “Sum 2 Prove” — Jacob Buehner
An excellent pump up song by Lil Baby. This song perfectly describes the high expectations for this year’s season.
