“At that time Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. He fasted for forty days and forty nights and afterwards was hungry.” Matthew 4:1

As we are right near the halfway point of Lent, we are hopefully staying away from all temptations and remaining strong in our Lenten promises. After Jesus was baptized, he went to the desert to begin his Catholic life and teachings. While in the desert he was commonly tempted as he was fasting during this time. This time in the desert is similar to the story of Adam and Eve as they were tempted also. But, knowing that Christ is the redeemer, he defeated Satan and prevailed in his time in the desert, which we should all try to do this Lent.
