Bible Verse of the Week

Jan. 23, 2023; Compassion

January 23, 2023

“As we stand together, may we answer God’s call to live a life of compassion, humility, simplicity, trust, and zeal.” We say this prayer at the end of every school day praying for God’s guidance by invoking the Xavierian charisms. What entails being a companionate person?

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” — Colossians 3:12

This sums up how to be a good servant of the lord, which includes being compassionate. If you don’t know how to start, then start by doing the little things. Building with multiple small compassionate actions and spreading it to others will be an amazing kickstart to being more compassionate overall. Like how Veronica wiped the face of Jesus: she didn’t have to do this, but she saw a suffering Jesus and couldn’t help but step in. Veronica is somebody we can certainly look to as a compassionate leader.
