Tyler’s Throwback Thursday

“Dream On” in many people’s opinions is the, or at least one of, the greatest songs of all time. I happen to be one of those people. The guitar has a steady simple riff, but is so effective. Joe Perry is a great guitarist and along with Brad Whitford it creates a great dueling effect.

The guitar never goes over the top and that is what makes the song so special. Some may like flashy or crazy wild music for it to be great, but the song wouldn’t be anything without Steven Tyler. He and his amazing vocals epitomize everything I like about Aerosmith. The scream toward the end of the song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

The inspirational lyrics are great and they get me going every day. One of the first true power ballads, it is often imitated but never duplicated. Combining the guitar with the great vocal and lyrics, this song turns out to be a true epic.

I would recommend this song to anyone that listens to music to help them push through a workout or to get through a long day.
