Sam’s Throwback Thursday
When talking about throwbacks, there may be no period better than the 80s. Let’s talk about one of the most nostalgic hit songs of that decade.

It’s time to take a break from somewhat recent rap (because according to some people, 2015 is “not a throwback”) and take a look at one song that could teleport even the most modern man to a much simpler time — the 80s.
When you think of the summer of 1969, what is the first thing that comes to mind? For dang near every summer, your own memories come to mind, but when you hear of the “Summer of ‘69”, it’s usually the memories of Bryan Adams that come rushing to your head. If you’re looking for a song to play around your parents that you can still get down to, “Summer of ‘69” is the perfect song (unless you DON’T want to listen to your parents trying their best to sing along, when in reality they don’t remember the words).
Even if you were born in the 2000s, the combination of a retro-rock guitar and the comforting, nostalgic voice of Bryan Adams can take you back to a time when you weren’t even alive. The song’s upbeat tone takes us to a happier place and helps us remember some of our best memories from times of hanging out with friends, messing around, and falling in love. There are few songs that can execute a task like this so well.
