The top five Halloween candies have been a debated topic for centuries now. Whether it be a chocolate fan with Kit Kats up top, or a chewy skittles fan that has a bunch of fruity candies on their list. The world will never know what the true correct list is, but here is my personal top list.
#5 Twix Bar
In tight competition with the snickers bar, Twix is the correct amount of caramel (care-uh-mel) and chocolate. Plus, the crunchy part of the Twix bar coated in the milk chocolate gives it the best ratio of silky and crunchy. The reason this beats out the snickers bar is because the snickers bar has peanuts in them and are less inclusive to a large portion of the population. Now there is a different way to eat Twix bars apart from just throwing them in your mouth. Biting the top part, the part filled with caramel, off of the bar then eating the biscuit after makes the Twix bar more diverse and an all around great contender in a few years for the HMTC (Halloween’s most tasty candy).
#4 Gobstoppers
There is no other candy like the gobstopper. It is in a league of its own and if you even compare it with the jolly rancher, you are wrong. If you receive a jolly rancher in your Halloween bag, it just reminds you of school and how you came so close to winning a Quizlet live or Gimkit. Gobstoppers are one of those candies that are labeled as a “Halloween Candy”, you only see them on or near the Halloween holiday. They come in all different sizes, but you mainly see the small kind.
#3 Three Musketeers
Trying this chocolate bar for the first time after a 5th grade basketball game at mid-America was a perfect time to have it. The first thing I noticed about it was the soft inside that compliments a nice chocolaty outside layer and gives it the perfect chewy texture with a nice taste. When it is in bite form like the kind you get for Halloween typically, that is when the candy takes its place in the top 5. It gives you a quick recharge to the energy and also soothes your body with how soft and easy it is to enjoy.
#2 Reese’s Cups
There isn’t a brand that advertises their product better than Reese’s. Being able to get 3 bites out of 1 single candy carries the weight of the number two spot. The hard chocolate with the peanut butter in the middle just squeezes out the second spot above Three Musketeers. They are hard to describe but in the words of Lincoln Bayer, “They are just FIRE.” When people ask you what you want, Reese’s cups are always on the mind even though they may not be picked.
#1 100 Grand
Last but not least, the best candy on the market. There is no bad way to even eat this masterpiece that was created by Nestlé years back. I personally like them frozen when I eat them but having them straight out of the gas station is also another plausible way to eat them. Now they aren’t seen much on Halloween, it’s a bonus to find them in your candy bag, many call it a hidden gem. It isn’t overly sweet compared to many other chocolates on the market. It consists of caramel mixed with bits of rice crisps coated with silky milk chocolate on the outside.
