When it comes to the best season of the year, there’s really no debate, fall wins easily. It’s the perfect balance between summer’s heat and winter’s cold, there’s nothing like wearing shorts and a sweatshirt. From football games and Halloween to incredible weather and scenery, fall combines the best parts of every season into one.
First, the weather in fall is unbeatable. The days are cool but not freezing, and the air has that crisp feeling that makes being outside actually enjoyable. You don’t have to deal with sweating through summer or bundling up like it’s you’re in the North Pole. It’s the perfect climate for sports, hiking, bonfires, and just hanging out. Fall is when people actually want to go outside.
Second, football season defines fall. Friday night lights, Saturday college rivalries, and Sunday NFL games make every weekend electric. Football brings people together, students, families, and whole cities rally around their teams. The energy in the stands, the band, and the smell of tailgate food are things you can only get in football season. No other sport or season creates that kind of environment and support.
Third, Halloween makes fall unforgettable. It’s the one holiday that lets kids, teens, and adults be involved. You can be scared, funny, or ridiculous all in the same night. The entire month of October turns into a celebration of haunted houses, scary movies, and candy. People set up decorations super early, so the whole month feels like a holiday.
Finally, fall’s vibe and aesthetic looks destroy the competition. The changing leaves turn ordinary places into beautiful scenery. Hoodies, flannels, bonfires, and warm drinks make everything feel cozy. Even the food fits perfectly: pumpkin spice, apple cider, and most importantly chili. There are very few negatives when it comes to fall, the only one I can think of is the days becoming shorter.
In the end, fall stands above every other season, and it is a hill I’m willing to die on.
