Marvel Rivals, the hottest game out, is a six versus six shooter game with characters from across the Marvel Universe. Characters include many fan favorites such as Hulk, Ironman, Rocket Raccoon, Jeff the Shark, and so many more.
While many accuse the game of directly copying off of Blizzard’s Overwatch, (which isn’t far off), the game’s detailed graphics and movement blows Overwatch out of the water. The game’s fast pace makes for quick matches, lasting between seven to ten minutes and can be as short as five if your team is dominant.
Every character has abilities that correlate with the super hero or villain, and an ultimate that charges up throughout the game. A major characteristic that separates Rivals is its unique hero “team-up” ability.
When certain characters are being used on the same team additional abilities are gained for the characters involved. The game features two different game modes. One mode requires for the offensive team to successfully push the payload throughout the map while the defensive side attempts to keep payload where it is at. The alternative game mode is not as popular, but players still enjoy it because the games are quicker and the maps are enclosed.
Characters are divided into three different classes: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. In order for your team to be victorious, it is always essential to have a team composition that works against your opposing team’s composition. The most essential class is the strategist more well known as the healer. Most characters deal a high amount of damage so healers are necessary in order to keep your team alive.
