My Top Three:
Uber Eats
This commercial, starred in by Matthew McConaughey and Kevin Bacon, pokes fun at how football is made to sell food. It goes through the eras of football, like the early days (1920s and 30s) and the glory days (1980s and 90s) and hilariously displayed how food has always been integrated with football.
Pringles
This commercial shows how mustaches from famous athletes and actors can be “called” from an empty Pringle can. People like James Harden, Andy Reid, and Nick Offerman all lose their facial hair and the mustaches hilariously fly to retrieve more Pringles. This commercial showed the product well and in a funny and entertaining fashion.
Rocket
This commercial is not comical, but it is touching and gave a good story. It showed the American Dream, dubbed by “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. I am ranking this commercial as one of the best because it caused a huge karaoke scene at the Super Bowl, where everyone was singing the classic country song.
My Worst Three:
Coffee Mate
This commercial was awful. A guy eats some of the cold foam and his tongue starts dancing up close on screen. It was just unsettling and uncomfortable, and most people thought it was a terrible advertisement.
WeatherTech
This commercial is funny, however it’s not the best. This commercial shows how a group of elderly women take a day out on the town with their convertible, accompanied by their WeatherTech floor mats. What makes this advertisement bad is that you have no idea what the product is until the last second, making most people forget what they are even advertising.
Mountain Dew
This commercial is funny, but it is just unsettling. It shows a group of people pulling up to a boulder, which is owned by a pack of seals drinking Mountain Dew: Baja Blast. However, one of the passengers on the boat turns into a creepy looking seal and starts singing a rendition of “Kiss From a Rose”, fittingly sang by Seal. This commercial was funny and showed the product well, but it just left the viewer with an unsettling feeling.
