The Tiger Hockey Team is ready to drop the puck versus Owensboro tonight (11/1). Under first-year head coach James Frank, the Tigers are hungry to avenge last year’s loss in the state championship.
Through commitments on the ice and in the weight room, key leaders like senior captain Colin Duncan and alternate captain Stephen Wickson are expected to lead the Tigers into battle this season.
“Winning a state championship is obviously the goal, especially with the depth this year’s team brings,” Duncan said. “As long as we play for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back we will be on our way to a very successful season and hopefully bring home the state championship.”
Every season presents its own set of challenges that the team looks to change this season.
“Last year we had many struggles that we can learn from and improve upon this year,” Wickson said. “If I can help our team stay positive in the deflating moments of hockey we can be a really strong team this year.”
Coach Frank is honored to be the head coach, as hockey has been in his blood since a young age. He is looking forward to pushing this solid program to the next level.
“We want to have a team here that will compete to be the best in our league every year,” Frank said. “We hope that we will be the team that young hockey players in Louisville look to as the place they want to play their high school hockey.”
The Tigers are ready to drop the puck and start their quest for glory tonight. Needless to say, Coach Frank’s Ice Tigers are up for a challenge.
