This Sunday, March 2nd, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM, the Mardi Gras Mile will take place at our very own track! This exciting event is a fundraiser for Catholic Charities, with a $5 entry fee, and all proceeds going directly to support their mission.
Catholic Charities serves those in need, particularly the poor and oppressed, through various outreach programs that help our neighbors in Louisville and across 24 counties in central Kentucky. As the social-service ministry of the Archdiocese of Louisville, they provide essential support to individuals and families facing hardship.
Throughout the event, multiple heats will take place, featuring fierce competition among local high schools—including Assumption, Sacred Heart, St. X, and Trinity—as they battle for the Catholic Charities Trophy!
Mardi Gras Mile Point System:
1 point for each paying participant from a school.
1 additional point for every dollar extra donated by a school. Each extra dollar also allows you to suggest a song to be played (must be appropriate)
1 additional point for every participant dressed up in the theme (Mardi Gras Theme, picture can be searched up online).
5 points to the winner of a mile heat.
3 points to second
1 point to third.
